We are already well into the adoption process but there are some big 'projects' for us to prepare for soon. Our home study is awaiting final approval which should happen this week. Then we will begin our application for the USCIS (United States Customs and Immigration Services) and fingerprints. After that will start wading through the Dossier which is literally pounds of paperwork that will be submitted to Russia in order for them to match a child with our family.
During all of this, we are also applying for grants and raising financial support for our adoption. We believe the final cost will be somewhere between $40,000- $45,000. We still need $25,000 to bring our baby home. We have faith that God will provide this!
This process can get overwhelming at times but we are so blessed to have such supportive friends and family.
